What we are looking for

The role of our Operational Assurance Officer is to deliver an integrated and ‘hands-on’ operational assurance framework for the Surveillance and Security function, thereby enhancing operational compliance as it relates to internal operating procedures, applicable legislation, organisational requirements and community expectations.

Key responsibilities in the role are but not limited to:

  • Support the Operational Assurance Advisor in delivering an integrated yet fully impartial, operational assurance and compliance framework. Focus on risk priorities and operational improvement through a strict compliance measurement approach
  • Identify operational compliance gaps and make independent improvement recommendations
  • Assist in executing assurance initiatives in collaboration with the Asset Protection operations teams
  • Proactively monitor, audit and report on professional standards and integrity, developing and implementing an independent and consistent approach to auditing and reporting
  • Continuously review, test and audit the execution of standard operating procedures, as they relate to the prevention of minors from entering licensed areas
  • Document and record audit and compliance inspection outcomes against organisational policies, standards and legislative requirements with a view to driving effectiveness and consistency
  • Support the Operational Assurance Advisor in conducting sophisticated and meaningful end-to-end operational investigations in relation to critical incidents and serious procedural breaches
  • Assist with minimising the risks associated with business activities and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and organisational requirements
  • Continuously review, monitor and look to improve the performance of all operational procedures through periodic monitoring, regular auditing and review to ensure the management system continues to function effectively
  • Proactively seek to experience and genuinely understand any challenges or hurdles faced by operations teams in meeting their day-to-day compliance obligations

What we are looking for:

  • Previous 1-3 years’ experience in a Compliance, Assurance or Regulatory role
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Gambling Accreditation
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Certificate IV in Security & Risk Management desirable but not a must
