The Sales Manager, reporting to the Director of Sales, will play a key role in identifying and cultivating new business opportunities to drive profitable revenue growth for The Star Sydney. This position will also ensure strategic alignment with broader sales and marketing initiatives, while acting as the primary liaison for sales activities across key market segments.

A few of your responsibilities  

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts within assigned markets to exceed revenue targets
  • Contribute to achieving annual sales goals across key segments
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans, including annual and quarterly reviews, marketing initiatives, and other business directives
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of new business and manage key client accounts
  • Partner with Revenue, Events, and Digital teams to identify short- to mid-term growth opportunities
  • Guide and support the Sales Team to ensure activities align with KPIs and meet agreed performance metrics

What we are looking for 

  • Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in a commercial or related field
  • Extensive experience in the business events and hotel sector, with strong industry relationships
  • Proficient in Opera system
  • Strong track record in sales strategy, targeting, and delivering commercial outcomes

About You

You are a proactive and results-driven sales professional with extensive experience in the business events and hotel sector.

You’re confident using systems like Opera and have a proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that deliver measurable commercial outcomes. Your collaborative approach and sharp targeting strategies make you a trusted partner across internal teams and external stakeholders alike.
