Join our team as the Sokyo Venue Manager at The Star Brisbane.

The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia’s newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.

Renowned for it’s traditional Japanese cooking techniques, Sokyo delivers unexpected twists to the dining experience, taking the ordinary to extraordinary. Led by Executive Chef Alex Yu Sokyo is a creative collision of Ritual Meets Arts, brining theatre like experience to your table.

As the Venue Manager of Sokyo, you'll be reporting to the F&B Operations Manager, offering a unique opportunity to curate an experience that seamlessly merges tradition and artistry, honouring Japanese customs and rituals while adding a modern Australian flair.

This role of the Venue Manager will oversee the guest service effectiveness while promoting this ethos within your teams. You will be responsible for creating a fresh, positive, and exciting environment where safety, flawless delivery, and execution of product excellence will be key. You will understand the importance of working with The Star Brisbane’s booking coordinators and VIP sales team to ensure events within your venues run smoothly.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate to customers and team members a commitment to service excellence through the effective implementation and delivery of The Star Brisbane’s quality standards
  • Foster a winning, solution-oriented work environment that motivates and engages your teams to continuously deliver the best possible service to our customers
  • Lead and provide guidance to the department in attaining financial and operational targets
  • Provide reporting on labour, cost of sales, daily hours as well as monthly profit and losses 
  • Oversee staff rosters ensuring that The Star’s Enterprise Agreement, policies and procedural requirements are adhered to

What we will be looking for

  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • High level customer service experience and implementation
  • Experience in managing 5-star fine dining venues  
  • Accreditation in Responsible Service of Alcohol

You are a leader in the Food & Beverage industry and bring a wealth of expertise from a fine dining venue in a leadership role. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong background in hospitality management, a keen eye for detail, and a dedication to delivering a 5-star guest experience. As the Venue Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our restaurant's reputation for excellence while fostering a positive work environment for our team.

About us

The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.
