We are currently looking for a hard-working and highly dedicated Chef de Cuisine to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen team while working closely with the Front-Of-House team to create memorable experiences to our guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Sous Chef, this is an opportunity for you to advance your career!

Our Private Dining Room, Oasis is known for its exceptional and personalised service with a diverse menu covering the best Asian and Western dishes to deliver our guests a premium experience.

Key responsibilities in the role are but are not limited to:

  • Work in partnership with the Restaurant Manager to take ownership for the efficient and effective performance of the outlet and all work activities.
  • Handle labour and food cost budgets
  • Stock control and production planning
  • Write and implement new menu items including presentation and recipe development
  • Recruit, train, develop and performance-manage your team

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • 5+ years in a similar role within a 5-star hotel or large production environment will be an asset
  • Experience managing a team of 20 or more colleagues
  • Sound knowledge of Asian and European/Australian cooking styles
  • Ability to work in a large corporate environment, using different computer systems and the skills to partner with different stakeholders
  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen and production environment.
