General Manager Asset Protection – Sydney Leadership team

The General Manager Asset Protection role reports directly into the Chief Executive Officer, The Star Sydney, and offers an extraordinary opportunity to lead the overall strategic management and direction of the Asset Protection function, ensuring the long-term safety and security of guests and team members.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will ensure the protection of The Star’s integrity, assets, and provide a high level of professional, proficient and effective leadership in line with The Star’s corporate values, compliance obligations and business objectives.

 

A few of your responsibilities:

· Oversee the management and daily operation of the Asset Protection function, ensuring operations are conducted in accordance with the highest standards including gaming integrity

· Formulate measures to enhance protection of The Star’s assets and prevention and detection of criminal, illegal and undesirable activity

· Develop strategies and operational practices to reduce violent incidents, and operational breaches inclusive of RSA and minors

· Ensure emergency management protocols, and all Asset Protection management are cognisant of their roles and responsibilities during emergency management incidents and when the crisis management plan has been implemented

· Optimisation of the Asset Protection Department business plan including an operating budget, labour levels and resource requirements, balancing compliance and service

 

What we are looking for:

· Extensive experience in Security and management, preferably within the casino industry

· Understanding of laws as they relate to the organisation, in particular, Casino Control Act and regulations, NSW Liquor Act, Security Industry Act and Crimes Act

· Ability to communicate and implement all statutory processes

· Experience in managing a large in house and contract workforce

· Advanced Conflict Resolution and Incident Management

You are a seasoned leader able to leverage your deep understanding of risk management, loss prevention, and regulatory compliance to provide specialist expertise and insights to a range of stakeholders across operational risk, asset protection capabilities and business continuity.
