We will do this by embedding our values to lead the organisation with a focus on safer gambling and good business practices.

Our properties across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Sydney are world-class with many award-winning hotels, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues.

As our Regulatory Manager, reporting to the General Manager Property Risk and Compliance, you will oversee the regulatory affairs and engagement program in Brisbane, ensuring compliance with government and regulatory requirements. You will foster professional relationships with relevant government agencies and support business initiatives to maintain regulatory compliance.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will play a critical role in managing regulatory risks and ensuring The Star Brisbane meets its licensing and compliance obligations.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage relationships between The Star Brisbane and the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) and other relevant agencies.
  • Ensure internal control documentation aligns with statutory requirements and is accessible to business units.
  • Coordinate presentations and communications with regulators, presenting a consistent and professional account of The Star's activities.

  • Implement directions from government and regulators efficiently and effectively.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience working in a highly regulated environment or legal experience.
  • Strong understanding of statutory and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional writing skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring professional and precise communication with regulators and stakeholders.

About you:

You are a proactive and strategic professional with a strong background in regulatory compliance and risk management. Your experience in building and managing relationships with government agencies and regulators positions you to drive regulatory compliance across the business. Your ability to provide practical solutions to complex regulatory challenges makes you an asset to The Star Brisbane.

Your role will be pivotal in shaping the success of our regulatory compliance framework and supporting The Star's commitment to responsible and ethical business practices.

What we can offer you:

  • Up to 30% discounts across award-winning restaurants and accommodation
  • An organisation that values diversity, teamwork, and being your best self
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing services
  • Supportive leadership team
