Safety Advisor – Health & Safety

The Safety Advisor role reports directly to the Safety Manager and supports the execution of our health and safety strategy. By fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing, this role plays a vital part in reducing incidents, improving health and productivity, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Assist with the implementation of The Star Safety Management System (SMS) on property.
  • Develop partnership-style relationships with management and supervisors to foster engagement with the health and safety program.
  • Proactively identify health and safety risks and collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective controls.
  • Support incident investigations to identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and share insights across The Star.
  • Conduct audits and inspections with management and Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs) to drive continuous improvement.

What we will be looking for:

  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and drive positive change.
  • Strong knowledge of Work Health & Safety legislation and standards.
  • Experience with implementing and improving safety management systems is advantageous.
  • Newly qualified graduates with a degree or master’s in occupational health & safety are strongly encouraged to apply.
