Join our team as a Senior People Partner at The Star Brisbane.    

The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.   

As our Senior People Partner, reporting directly to the Head of People Partnerships, you will closely collaborate with The Star Brisbane’s corporate and operational functions and align them to the wider people strategy. In this role, you will manage your own portfolio, playing a pivotal role in developing leadership capabilities whilst ensuring regulatory and governance requirements are met. You’ll also collaborate closely with the broader People Operations team, including Employee Relations, Learning & Development, and Remuneration & Benefits, to drive impactful change. You will provide strategic insights to drive business decisions & act as a strong catalyst of change.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Embrace collaboration between the functional and property leaders to deliver a consistent, efficient, and proactive strategic people agenda together with the business
  • Partner closely with leaders to ensure that the People Agenda is a priority and that the solutions meet the unique needs of the group or department
  • Prioritise and partner in building financially sound recommendations, across all aspects of People Operations that address both the immediate and the long-term needs
  • Coach, develop and empower leaders to positively engage with their people matters and educate them on the People Operating Model
  • Work closely with Mid-Level to Senior leaders to support their teams infusing a positive workplace culture, one that focuses on Leadership, Service, Accountability and Business Performance
  • Foster a collaborative and productive relationship between the business and union representatives to support organisational goals and employee engagement

What we will be looking for:

  • Proven work experience in a human resource related role, primarily in business partnering
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology or Organisational Development
  • Strong relationship, coaching, influencing and communication skills to build the development of leadership teams
  • Demonstrates a proactive business partnership, driven by a self-starter mindset and an unwavering can-do attitude
  • Previous management consulting experience in the human resources field with an external group
  • Deep understanding of Australian employment law and its practical application in complex workplace environments

You are a natural collaborator and communicator, able to understand and explain complex business requirements and strategy. You appreciate the unique needs of each business unit and are able to leverage your experience in a fast-paced, highly regulated work environment.
