Are you ready to take the next step in your career and shape the future of talent at The Star? We’re seeking a passionate and strategic Talent Acquisition Lead to join our People & Culture team at The Star Sydney.

The Talent Acquisition (TA) Lead plays a critical role in supporting enterprise hiring excellence. Leading a small team of TA Partners, you will partner closely with senior leaders to understand workforce needs, enhance the candidate experience, and deliver a high‑performing, data‑driven recruitment function.

This is a unique opportunity to elevate our talent strategy and influence outcomes across the business.

 

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of TA professionals, fostering a high‑performance and service‑driven culture.
  • Design and implement a scalable, data‑driven TA strategy aligned with business needs, including proactive talent pipelines and employer brand initiatives.
  • Oversee recruitment operations across all business units, ensuring consistent, inclusive, and compliant hiring practices.
  • Partner with hiring managers and People Partnerships to forecast talent requirements, provide workforce insights, and support informed hiring decisions.
  • Track and report key hiring metrics, providing insights to enhance performance, efficiency, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Champion an outstanding candidate experience from first connection to onboarding.
  • Manage relationships with recruitment vendors, assessment partners, and job boards to ensure service quality and value.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws, hiring policies, and data‑privacy requirements.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment across operational, corporate and/or specialist portfolios.
  • Proven experience driving successful talent acquisition strategies that support business performance.
  • High levels of initiative, service excellence, and stakeholder partnership skills.
  • Experience with social recruiting tools (LinkedIn, Meta platforms) and in‑house ATS (PageUp advantageous).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects in a fast‑paced environment with acute attention to detail)
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and lateral‑thinking capability.
