The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre. This transformational project has brought even more excitement and anticipation to burgeoning Brisbane. It will redefine how people play, shop, and socialise in the river city.
As a key member of our Property Risk & Compliance team, you’ll lead the day-to-day compliance management for The Star Brisbane — and help ensure our people, guests, and operations are protected and aligned with our values and obligations. You’ll partner closely with leaders across the property and drive proactive engagement in risk identification, incident response, and compliance training.

A few of your responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and practical solutions across compliance and risk matters
- Monitor, report, and escalate issues to ensure regulatory obligations are met
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis of non-compliance and near misses
- Facilitate risk assessments and operational readiness activities
- Coach leaders and frontline teams on policies, procedures, and risk controls
- Support implementation of Group-wide risk frameworks and assurance plans
- Deliver high-quality, timely reporting to senior leadership
What we will be looking for
- Demonstrated experience in operational risk, compliance, or assurance (3–5 years+)
- Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks (e.g. WHS, AML, Responsible Service)
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work independently and build trusted relationships across diverse teams
- Experience in fast-paced, regulated industries (hospitality, gaming, retail, etc.) preferred

About us
The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.
