The Star Entertainment Group is seeking a General Manager, Learning & Development Manager to join our vibrant and fast-paced People and Performance team. This team is part of the transformation underway at The Star to provide great experiences for our guests in a safe, responsible and ethical way.
This is a central leadership role in the People and Performance department, responsible for enterprise-wide leadership and capability development. Reporting into the CPO, this role offers an extraordinary opportunity, working across the Group on key enterprise-wide initiatives.

About the Role:
As the GM L&D, you will lead learning and development strategy for the group with a strong emphasis on compliance with the Australian Casino Control Acts and associated regulations. This will require a seasoned leader with an in-depth knowledge of adult learning principles, regulatory requirements, and contemporary leadership development initiatives.
A few of your responsibilities:
- The General Manager L&D will engage with key stakeholders and leaders across all departments to identify learning needs and will be responsible for the design, development, and roll-out of key learning initiatives.
- You will be pivotal in keystone projects to redesign mandatory and core Learning modules, including covering a range of compliance topics.
- The role will include external vendor management as you support the L&D elements of The Star’s remediation plan.
- You will be expected to build and lead a high-performing training and development team capable of navigating the complexities of a diverse organisation in a regulated casino industry and operating within the training governance framework.
What we are looking for:
- You will need to demonstrate acute L&D acumen, strategic planning, excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with superior influencing strategies across multiple stakeholder streams.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing compliant training initiatives within an effective training governance framework.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Exceptional leadership and team management within a high governance listed environment.
- Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional team environment
