At The Star Entertainment Group, our purpose is simple: to be Australia’s entertainment destination of choice. With The Star Brisbane at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, we’re redefining how people play, shop, and socialize in the river city. Offering world-class hotels, dining, luxury retail, gaming, and an innovative Event Centre, we’re introducing a new chapter of hospitality in Brisbane.

About the Role:

In this recently established role as Senior Designer, you will take the lead in overseeing the visual design aspects of a range of exciting campaigns, across owned and paid channels.

You'll be responsible for conceptualising and creating compelling, on-brand designs that resonate with our audience while capturing trends, pushing the boundaries and evolving brand guidelines.

You will collaborate with industry specialists, ensuring brand consistency while bringing each campaign to life.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment, using your varied creative skills on a diverse portfolio of campaigns, this could be the role for you! This permanent, full-time position allows you to WFH 2 days/week when you’re not in the CBD William St office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external copywriters, vendors, and internal teams to implement a wide range of tasks that align with marketing and campaign goals, brand guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the successful delivery of sponsor and partner activations in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality designs, which may include direct involvement in design tasks such as editing, retouching, and reviewing for accuracy and consistency.
  • Craft and prepare presentations and other creative assets for general use across the organisation.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on design, photography, and videography, providing consultation internally and to external agency partners.
  • Manage, assess, and check third-party design service providers, addressing performance issues and advancing concerns to the Creative Services Manager when needed.
  • Supervise and mentor the Graphic Designer, as needed.

About You:

You have senior design experience from a Brand Design Agency, excel at collaborating, and work well in demanding environments. You know how to blend strategy with creativity, developing assets that perform, inspire and convert and are known for your ability to juggle tight deadlines with grace and deliver work that is purpose driven.

This permanent, hybrid role offers the chance to work in the heart of Brisbane. Preferably, you have experience from the entertainment, gaming, leisure, or events industries.

What You Bring:

  • A portfolio you can attach to your application and bring to an interview, showcasing design skills across print, web, and digital mediums, including video.
  • Experience managing a high volume of varied campaigns end-to-end, from conceptualisation to delivery.
  • Strong applied understanding of colour theory, composition, and typography, ideally coupled with retouching experience.
  • Advanced MS Office/Google Suite and Adobe Creative Suite skills (including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro) & After Effects.
  • It’s beneficial if you have expertise in copywriting as it reduces the reliance on third-party copywriters, and knowledge of printing procedures, photography, and illustration.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to present to groups, lead discussions, influence collaborators, and manage competing demands.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves to make every design effective.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously on multiple and diverse creative outcomes in satisfaction of broad objectives/ parameters and, in the context of a broader team and third part stakeholder environment

Benefits:

  • Complimentary meal on-site every day, including hot meals, sandwich bar, and more.
  • Flexible working arrangements in a hybrid model.
  • Heavily discounted onsite city parking at $8/day.
  • Up to 30% discounts across award-winning restaurants and accommodation.
  • Career development, training, and courses via The Star Academy – limitless career opportunities.
  • An organization that values diversity, teamwork, and being your best self.
  • Lifestyle discounts, including gym memberships, retail offers, and dry-cleaning services.
  • Paid parental leave from Day 1, with secondary carer’s leave also available.
  • Access to mental health and well-being services.
