What we are looking for

We have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Communications Planning who will work closely with Business Lead, Creative Director, Digital Lead, PR and media agency to ensure a comms idea is accurately integrated across the channels that best meet The Star brand. You will play a pivotal role in our Communications strategy and be responsible for all plans for marketing and brand campaigns

Key responsibilities in the role are but not limited to:

  • Lead day-to-day comms planning for all marketing/brand campaigns
  • Hands on approach to comms strategic, comms planning and channel planning
  • Partner closely with the Marketing Teams and In-House Creative and external agencies
  • Lead to ensure our creative ideas make most effective use of an integrated mix of owned, earned and paid channels, and are deployed via innovative, targeted media and technology
  • Work with The Star owned channel teams to ensure the communication idea is adopted and executed seamlessly throughout social, PR, and .com properties
  • Partner closely with media agency partners to ensure that The Star ideas are deployed through the proper mix of paid/owned/earned channels
  • Partner with Brand Manager and UX Designer to develop consumer journeys campaigns
  • Determine communications tasks for each campaign and write/review task briefs that guide messaging and execution tailored for each channel
  • Set PR objectives, goals and priorities by working with the business on the recommendation of strategic communications plans
  • Create measurable campaign KPI’s, helping to enhance creative effectiveness and improve The Star’s level of innovative ideas
  • Read and analyse campaign metrics and leverage insights from data to improve comms effectiveness
  • Understand consumer behaviours within media, and a working knowledge of media relevant to The Star’s business including TV, digital, social, experiential, print, OOH, and search
  • Showcase an understanding of digital, social and emerging platforms and technologies

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing or Communications
  • Understanding of strategy experience in an advertising, PR, digital and/or media agency
  • 6-10 years proven experience in a comms planning, media planning, digital strategy, or a social planning role; expertise in developing digital, social and experiential marketing plans
  • A strategic approach with a creative heart and an analytical mind
  • Superior professionalism with key partners and internal team
  • Experience in an advertising, digital and/or media agency
  • Experience analysing campaign performance and an understanding of the role analytics plays in selling and measuring ideas
