As our Food & Beverage Supervisor within In Room Dining, reporting to the Venue Manager, you will support leading a team to deliver the daily operations of the venue and provide an exceptional guest experience across The Star Grand and Forbes 5 star Hotel The Darling.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will have the opportunity to create a unique dining experience for our guests, take good care and have a hands on approach when maintaining efficiency of service, general product and technical knowledge.

A few of your responsibilities:   

  • Assist Venue Manager to lead and support achievement of financial and operational targets
  • Support the Manager and Assistant Manager in the development of business plans for the outlet and assist with the implementation of the business unit’s and division’s strategies
  • Supervise staff and assist the Assistant Restaurant Manager complete all people planning requirements including training, development and performance management of staff
  • Set specific daily performance objectives for all employees and supervise the service flow and performance standards
  • Ensure all staff adheres to cash handling procedures, and record all cheque, money, credit card and room charge transactions in the MICROS system in accordance with policy and procedure Ensure an open line of communication at all times through daily shift briefings, and ensure a smooth transition and handover between all shifts. Monitor the quality of food and service to ensure high standards are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace and coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of all equipment and materials and maintain level of stock.

What we are looking for:   

  • Previous food & beverage leadership experience, with a sound food & beverage knowledge (IRD and/or Hotel experience highly regarded)
  • Exceptional, world-class standards in guest service excellence, with a natural ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of guests
  • Polished five-star grooming and personal presentation
  • Highly organised and eager, with a high attention to detail
  • A current RSA Statement of Attainment
  • Flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating roster (including weekends and overnight shifts)
