As our Events Manager, reporting to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager, you will lead and manage the Events Executive team to ensure operational requirements for both internal and external Non-Gaming events and functions are met and align with organisational objectives. Additionally, you will optimise the execution of The Star’s events and conference product range to drive maximum revenue into the business.
This is a fantastic opportunity where you will supervise the overall processes for all event bookings from handover to operation execution, liaising with the client throughout the process and promoting positive client relations through the provision of excellent service, a courteous attitude and operational efficiency.
A few of your responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction regarding the operational aspects for the event implementation team, ensuring customer service, budgetary and operational requirements are met.
- Maximise the earnings potential of external cash or contra events, through the provision of up selling or cross selling the venue or property.
- Maximise the customer service and earnings potential for internal events (complimentary events) through the effective management of costs and the customer service execution of the event.
- Manage the Hospitality event team and work with applicable external providers, venue managers and The Star executives, to ensure the effective end to end execution of all events with both internal and external clients.
- Manage and lead internal and external High-Profile VIP Events from end-to-end.
- Manage events that range in size from 12 pax to over 3000 pax.
What we are looking for
- Extensive experience in event management (minimum 10 years) Casino or large hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience dealing with high-net-worth individuals (min $100k spend) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in planning and resourcing people and products, performance management and controlling labour costs and operating expenses.
- Delphi experience is essential.
- CAD & Opera experience is beneficial.
- Valid RSA and understanding of the NSW Liquor Licensing laws and regulations, is essential.
Applicant must have availability to work a rotating roster, including weekend and evening hours where required.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also vital to you, enabling seamless collaboration with vendors, clients, and team members.
Your role will be pivotal in shaping the success of developing engaging event concepts and memorable experiences for guests at The Star.
