Join our team as Property Operations Assistant Manager at The Star Brisbane.   

The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre. 

This transformational project has brought even more excitement and anticipation to burgeoning Brisbane. It will redefine how people play, shop, and socialise in the river city. 

The Property Operations Assistant Manager reports directly to the Property Operations Manager and is responsible for coordinating personnel on shift to achieve effective completion of maintenance works. This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for Property Operations.   

A few of your responsibilities    

  • Set specific performance objectives for direct reports and supervise service flow  

  • Co-ordinate resource requirements during each shift to ensure that the business needs are met 

  • Support the Operations Management team to provide leadership and direction with regard to the operational aspects of the department 

  • Provide reporting on shift labour, productivity and staffing levels 

  • Assist with the co-ordination, prioritisation and scheduling of work orders  

What we will be looking for   

  • Trade certificate in construction or maintenance 

  • Previous experience in an environment with a high turnover of maintenance requests, such as hospitality   

  • Good all-around knowledge of building services   

  • Prior experience throughout Engineering and/or Maintenance   

About you   

The successful candidate will be skilled in property maintenance and hold all relevant certificates. Teamwork is an essential part of the role, so the successful candidate will display excellent teamwork skills as well as the ability to work autonomously.  Prior experience in a supervisory position will also be highly regarded.
