As the Event Logistics Captain, you will report directly to the Event Logistics Manager and be responsible for supervising, guiding, and assisting the Events Logistics team. In this role, you will proactively manage the event floor staff across Logistics and liaise closely with our guests and clients to ensure you deliver a perfect event flow on the day. The Event Logistics Captain will work to accommodate a range of events such as conventions, exhibitions, functions, galas, and weddings.
A few of your responsibilities:
• Supervise, guide and assist Logistics team with on-the-job training and development.
• Proactively oversee and manage the Event Floor service flow and maintain performance standards, from bumping in/out, unloading trucks and motoring High-Risk activities, staff, and contractors to comply with QLD Government & WHS requirements.
• Follow instructions given by the Floor Manager daily for smooth business operations.
• Continuously monitor the work of team members during shifts.
What we're looking for:
• Strong knowledge and experience within a high-volume events space, convention centre, sporting event precinct or warehouse where you have worked on a variety of events open to the corporate client or public each day.
• Proven ability to lead a team, build productive working relationships and ensure tasks are completed accurately and safely.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ideally, you hold Forklift Licence or have a willingness to obtain one.
• A 'Responsible Service of Alcohol' accreditation is also preferred.
• Someone who is available to work the hours when events happen - this usually includes one weekend day per week.

What can we offer you:
• Competitive Hourly base rate of $27.98/ hour, plus penalty rates for weekends (25% extra Saturdays, 75% extra on Sundays and even more on public holidays). This equates to an annualised salary of around $60,000 per year plus super plus overtime.
