Join our team as a Property Operations Technician at The Star Brisbane.   

The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.

This transformational project has brought even more excitement and anticipation to burgeoning Brisbane. It will redefine how people play, shop, and socialise in the river city.

You will support the Property Operations team with overseeing the function of all electrical operations during shift. You will complete field inspections; trouble shoot in the event of building problems and make recommendation to the Property Operations Leadership team to maximize revenue and minimize cost. In addition to this, The Property Operations Technician will occasionally be required to attend works outside of their trade in order to assist other team members, providing an excellent opportunity to diversify their skillset! This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for Property Operations.  

A few of your responsibilities   

  • Carry out work issued by supervisors from start through to completion, maintaining a high standard of performance  
  • Identify and report service requirements as early as possible to maintain quality standards throughout the building  
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in good running condition at all times and are properly stored and accounted for  
  • Maintain a sufficient supply of all parts to ensure constant availability at all times

What are we looking for?

  • A current Queensland Electrical Licence
  • Previous experience in a logistic support role with engineering or maintenance
  • Sound reporting skills - computer based and logbooks
  • Ability to competently use appropriate hand and power tools
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in fault diagnostic
  • Capability to identify hazards and risks and provide appropriate control measures
  • Knowledge of various types of machinery and equipment
  • Contractors responsible for servicing of machinery and responsible to co-ordinate service contractors.
  • Experience with BMS or similar control systems and an understanding of commercial HVAC systems
  • Provides a friendly, helpful, and responsive service to internal and external customers
  • Experience with UPS systems
  • Exposure to high turnover hospitality operations is advantageous.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a customer focused attitude

About you 

The ideal candidate will be a trade certified electrician or refrigeration technician with the ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.  The successful candidate will take pride in their work and will assist supervisors in ensuring the highest standard of production and efficiency.
