The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.  

As our Art Director (also known as Senior Designer), you’ll report directly to the Creative Services Manager and play a key role in the conceptualization and delivery of visually engaging marketing materials that support our marketing campaigns, internal communications, employee engagement, and other business initiatives.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Interpret, manage and conceptualise design briefs, overseeing the creation and production of creative materials from end to end
  • Manage, assess, and monitor third-part design service providers, addressing performance issues
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on design, photography and videography
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality designs, including hands-on involvement in design tasks such as editing, retouching, and reviewing for accuracy and consistency

What we are looking for:

  • Specialized knowledge of methods and techniques of graphic design and layout, ideally gained in a Leisure & Entertainment/Gaming environment
  • Higher-level executive and client interaction skills.
  • Proficiency in Design Software: Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with other tools for both print and digital design
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and support numerous stakeholders to successfully deliver business outcomes within defined timelines
  • Experience in developing cohesive brand identities, including logo design, brand guidelines, and marketing collateral
  • Portfolio evidence showcasing design skills across print, web and digital mediums

You will oversee the development and execution of visual assets and content across both digital and print platforms, acting as the Brand Custodian for The Star Brisbane.
