About the Role
As an Event Planner for internal events, you'll be joining us during an exciting growth phase, with a significant number of internal events scheduled for 2025 and beyond. This newly created role will see you working closely with senior internal stakeholders and the People team to plan and deliver world-class events at Brisbane's largest event centre.
Reporting to the Events Planning Manager, you’ll play a key role in coordinating events for our VIP member[MK1] clientele and new team members. You'll rely on your exceptional customer service skills and keen attention to detail to create memorable experiences that reflect the energy and excitement of our brand.

Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop and strategise on events & activations to enhance engagement for their customers
- Produce and deliver detailed event orders, run sheets, and floorplans using Delphi and Event Draw.
- Successfully manage and deliver multiple events simultaneously while meeting stakeholder expectations.
- Guide internal clients through decisions on catering, theming, supplies, and AV; customise and design where required.
- Produce and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) in a timely manner.
- Manage financial aspects of each event, including revenue tracking, forecasting, ensuring profitability, and purchase orders.
- Communicate all relevant event information to internal departments, including the Events Logistics team.
- Represent The Star Brisbane at all events in a professional and courteous manner.

What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in planning VIP or corporate events, including sit-down meals, cocktail parties, and themed functions.
- Proven ability to deliver events for 500+ attendees.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with AV Technicians and Marketing teams.
- Proficiency in Delphi Sales, Delphi, and Event Draw (CAD) software is highly desirable as is previous experience working in hospitality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience building productive relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for event excellence.
- Flexibility to work two evenings and two weekends per month.
