The Risk & Controls Analyst, reporting to the Controls Manager, applies business analysis expertise to support the design and implementation of effective controls aligned with business processes. The role also involves assisting in investigations of process breakdowns to determine root causes and recommend improvements to processes and controls.
This is an exciting opportunity to support The Star Sydney in identifying and documenting operational risks, conducting control self-assessments, and collaborating with stakeholders to strengthen their risk and control frameworks.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Conduct business analysis to gather requirements and develop detailed process maps
- Serve as a key liaison between business units, technology teams, and risk and compliance functions
- Perform in-depth investigations into incidents and control deficiencies to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to document and test internal controls
- Analyse and reconcile information from multiple sources, resolve discrepancies, and work across teams to understand processes and propose actionable recommendations to business owners and the controls team
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience providing business analysis in a commercial or technology organisation
- Excellent organisation skills, specifically within process management and documentation
- Advanced analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both in terms of written (documentation) and verbal (e.g. facilitating workshops)
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or technology or accreditation in Business Analysis desirable
