As our Senior Data Engineer, reporting to the Data Engineer Manager you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the data platforms (CDW, ACE, and MDM) and related data integration platforms (Informatica, Striim) from an operational and strategic point of view, ensuring that all identified risks have a remediation plan and an appropriate level of proactive monitoring is in place across the platforms

This is a fantastic opportunity to build strong stakeholder relationships and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality.

 

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Provide estimates for new design and development work (with input from SME’s).
  • Take responsibility for all stages in the design and implementation of Data Platform and Data Integration Platform development work.
  • Develop, document, and maintain platform-based standards, advise on their application and implementation, and ensure compliance.
  • Work with Data Modellers, Data Analysts, and any other relevant roles to develop, document, and maintain Data Models, Data Dictionaries, and other related information.
  • Work with Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, and Solution Architects to develop, document, and maintain Data Platform and Data Integration Platform standards, designs, roadmaps, and the like.
  • Work with and within Project teams and/or with Business Stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet or exceed requirements, and within timeframes.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Highly skilled in verbal and written communication to analyse, interpret and address customer needs at multiple levels.
  • Required: 5+ years’ experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, or similar database and cloud platforms.
  • Displayed ability to work with minimal guidance or supervision in a time critical environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes.
  • Experienced at motivating and mentoring team members, presenting new opportunities and challenges for future development.
