At Sokyo, you'll be reporting to the senior culinary team, offering a unique opportunity to curate an experience that seamlessly merges tradition and artistry, honoring Japanese customs and rituals while adding a modern Australian flair.

You will be responsible for creating a fresh, positive, and exciting environment where safety, flawless delivery, and execution of product excellence will be key.

A few of your responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge of the entire menu, including an understanding of all base products and ingredients used. 
  • Food is prepared for food presentation, in line with menu requirements and kitchen standards (SOP’s) 
  • Be able to perform complex cooking duties and produce a dish/recipe, from a combination of ingredients without supervision and assist mis en place across all sections. 

What we will be looking for  

  • High end culinary experience , preferably with Japanese experience
  • Can- do team attitude 
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations 
  • Trade certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)

You will be experienced in high volume kitchen environments with sound knowledge across all sections. These roles require comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and OH&S standards and taking pride in keeping your section stocked and tidy. These roles are integral to the team and ensuring all preparation for your section is in line with service for the day and adhering to food safety requirements.

About us 

The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.   

When complete, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will deliver four new luxury hotels, more than 50 new food and beverage experiences, significant luxury retail, the restoration of nine heritage buildings and around 1,500 residential apartments.
