As a Commis Chef, you’ll work closely with the Chef de Cuisine in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that values precision, creativity, and a strong focus on safety and quality. Fat Noodle is a fun and vibrant kitchen—where every dish aims to impress.
This is a permanent full-time position, and full Australian working rights are essential.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Support or lead the assigned section as directed by the Chef De Cuisine and provide training to junior staff members
- Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations
- Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements
- Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment
What we are looking for:
- Culinary School Graduate. Received apprenticeship training in commercial cookery
- Experience with Asian cuisine and Wok skills desirable
- Proficiency with diverse food preparation techniques and cooking equipment
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including overnight shifts is a must
About You
You are passionate and creative, with strong culinary experience and a willingness to share your expertise to guide and support team members in the Fat Noodle Kitchen. With excellent communication skills, you thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with colleagues, management, and interacting with customers. You bring a proactive, positive attitude to every shift and are committed to delivering consistently high standards.
Your role will be pivotal to the success of Fat Noodle Kitchen at The Star Sydney.
