The Director of Risk and Compliance, reporting to the General Manager Risk and Compliance, will oversee the Regulatory Affairs and Risk and Controls teams in NSW, while proactively supporting the identification and management of both existing and emerging risks.

A few of your responsibilities:
- Lead identification and management of material risks and key controls for NSW
- Manage the Regulatory Affairs team and act as primary regulatory contact for The Star Sydney
- Independently assess and improve risk frameworks, policies, ICMs, and SOPs for NSW
- Ensure ICMs and SOPs align with risk appetite and regulatory requirements
- Oversee control identification and design by the NSW business
- Review and approve mitigation strategies for new or emerging risks
- Support root cause analysis of material incidents, breaches, and issues
What we are looking for:
- 10+ years’ experience in risk, compliance, governance, or strategy within gaming, finance, corporate, or government sectors
- Strong governance knowledge and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and manage teams
- Skilled in drafting policies, frameworks, and procedures
- Tertiary qualifications in analytical disciplines (e.g. Auditing, Business, Law, Economics, Accounting) preferred

You are a strategic and experienced leader in risk and compliance, with over 10 years’ experience in governance, regulatory affairs, or strategic risk roles. You bring a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and risk management, and are confident navigating complex compliance environments.
You role model integrity, accountability, and collaboration, and are passionate about fostering a culture of ownership and doing the right thing. You’re also well-versed in statutory compliance, risk reporting, and continuous improvement of frameworks and controls.
