The Security Duty Manager role reports directly to the Security Operations Manager and offers an extraordinary opportunity to establish overall property control, safety & security whilst providing leadership, motivation, advice and direction for all employees to meet the departmental objectives. This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for Security.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Implement strategies to safeguard assets and minimise incidents of theft, vandalism, assault, and other unlawful activities across The Star complex
- Oversee daily operations to meet departmental objectives in compliance with statutory requirements and organisational policies
- Lead and manage staff performance, training, development, and workforce planning to maintain optimal staffing levels
- Assess training needs and deliver programs that align with departmental goals and industry best practices
- Provide operational leadership to support security management and ensure exceptional customer service standards
What we are looking for:
- Current NSW Security Industry Licence. Subclass 1A
- Current RSA and RCG competency and First Aid Certificate
- Ability to work a rotating 24/7 roster
- Advanced Conflict Resolution and Incident Management
- Demonstrated ability in planning and resourcing people, performance management and controlling labour costs and operating expenses
About you:
You will bring a strong background in Security, with hands‑on problem‑solving skills and the ability to motivate team members while engaging confidently with stakeholders at every level. With experience operating within a large‑scale, fast‑paced and highly regulated environment, you will take pride in upholding the safety and wellbeing of all customers and team members, ensuring all operational and compliance requirements are met.
As a continuous 24/7 management representative for the department, you will act as a strong ambassador for our Security function—epitomising The Star’s values and consistently role‑modelling the behaviours that define our culture. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping the success of our Security operations at The Star Sydney.
