As the Employee Relations Advisor you will play a pivotal role in shaping a harmonious and collaborative work environment. Your expertise in employment legislation, policies, and best practices will guide The Star Gold Coast through various employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application across all levels.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be proactive and passionate about all things ER and enjoy the challenges of both low and high-risk cases!

A few of your responsibilities

  • Support and advise frontline leaders on behavioural, performance management, disputes, grievances, non-work-related injuries, and long-term unplanned leave matters
  • End-to-end case management ER cases to resolution
  • Conduct workplace investigations into employee grievances and allegations
  • Deliver effective coaching and training to line managers, positively impacting business performance and preventing recurring issues
  • Represent The Star in industrial relations and lower-risk employee relations matters with team members, unions, employer bodies, and industrial authorities

What are we looking for

  • In interest in Employee relations (previous experience highly regarded)
  • Experience working within a high volume and fast-paced environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Employee Relations preferred
  • Understanding of relevant workplace legislation, regulations, and enterprise agreements
  • Understanding of the operation of the Fair Work Commission and other employment related agencies
  • High level consultation, negotiation and dispute resolution skills with key business stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a highly regulated, complex and dynamic change environment 
  • Strong technical skills including experience use Microsoft apps such as Teams, Sharepoint, Excel, Forms and Word 
  • Highly organised and able to juggle multiple tasks, prioritising as required
