As the Demi Chef in our Nineteen at The Star, you will be given the responsibility of supporting our Chef de Cuisine, ensuring consistency in high-quality product and service standards. Collaborating with our talented chefs, you will contribute to the creation of innovative and flavourful culinary experiences that leave a lasting impression.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef de Cuisine in the day-to-day running of the Nineteen kitchen
- Take ownership of your designated workstation
- Ensure the quality and consistency of all food leaving the kitchen
- Support Commis chefs and Apprentice Chefs in the brigade
What are we looking for:
- Proven experience as a Chef in high-end, fine dining kitchen
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Flexible availability over a 7-day roster
- Comprehensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, international cuisines, and food preparation methods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Passion for culinary arts and a drive for continuous learning and improvement
