Regulatory Manager

The Regulatory Manager plays a critical role in leading The Star Brisbane's regulatory affairs and engagement program, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations across the business. Working closely with government agencies, regulators, and key stakeholders, you will provide expert regulatory guidance, oversee audits and inspections, and drive effective regulatory engagement strategies.

This role is responsible for leading a high-performing team, managing regulatory change initiatives, and strengthening internal compliance frameworks and controls. You will also champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance regulatory processes and support the successful delivery of business objectives in a highly regulated environment. What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience with Queensland gaming legislation, regulatory frameworks, and statutory compliance obligations, ideally gained over 12-15 years in legal, regulatory, compliance, or operational leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of casino operations, risk management practices, internal controls, and regulatory reporting requirements within highly regulated environments.
• Proven experience building and maintaining effective relationships with regulators, government agencies, and senior stakeholders.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Government, or a related discipline are highly regarded, as is experience in statutory compliance officer or similar regulatory-facing roles.
• Exceptional technical expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory matters while driving compliance excellence and continuous improvement.
