Risk & Compliance Manager

Join The Star Brisbane as a Risk & Compliance Manager and lead the delivery of risk and compliance excellence across one of Australia’s most dynamic entertainment destinations. In this influential leadership role, you'll oversee the Property Risk & Compliance team, driving risk management frameworks, compliance controls, and governance practices that support safe, compliant, and sustainable operations.

Working closely with senior leaders, you'll provide expert advice on risk, compliance, AML/CTF, and regulatory obligations while fostering a strong risk-aware culture across the business. You'll lead control testing, risk assessments, incident management, and reporting activities, ensuring emerging risks are identified, managed, and communicated effectively. What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or a highly regulated environment, with the ability to translate risk frameworks into practical business outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles, governance practices, and regulatory obligations, including Queensland casino regulations and AML/CTF requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to mentor, develop, and inspire high-performing teams while fostering a strong risk-aware culture.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risks, identify trends, and develop effective remediation strategies.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to communicate risk and compliance information to senior leaders and governance forums.
• Highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced operational environment.

We're looking for candidates with 6-8 years' experience in risk, audit, compliance, finance, law, or a related field. Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional memberships such as RMIA or IIA will be highly regarded.
