The Senior Risk and Controls Analyst, reporting to the Risk and Controls Lead, plays a key role in supporting business operations as a first-line risk and compliance specialist. This position is responsible for ensuring operational risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed, while helping The Star Sydney meet its regulatory obligations.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for our Risk and Compliance department.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Partner with leaders to identify, assess, and manage risks in line with frameworks, policies, and SOPs
  • Analyse and report on residual risk, trends, incidents, and breaches to inform decisions
  • Assess and mitigate operational risks, including gaming, AML/CTF, and Safer Gambling obligations
  • Support compliance implementation aligned with state and federal regulations
  • Improve control effectiveness through testing and reviews to ensure policy compliance

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, law, business, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in risk, compliance, audit, or licensed gaming roles
  • Knowledge of ICMs, SOPs, and risk governance frameworks
  • Skilled in risk assessment, control testing, and compliance monitoring
